Definition
- A PERIPHERAL OF A COMPUTER SYSTEM IS A COMPONENT THAT OPERATES UNDER THE DIRECT CONTROL OF THE PROCESSOR, ATTACHED TO IT VIA ITS INPUT/OUTPUT LOGIC. A PERIPHERAL CAN BE CONTRASTED WITH A TERMINAL, WHICH IS ATTACHED VIA A COMMUNICATIONS LINK.
