SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCES, PARTICULARLY THE NEW REPRODUCTIVE TECHNOLOGIES, CLONING TECHNIQUES, AND STEM-CELL RESEARCH HAVE GIVEN THE HUMAN BODY A PROBLEMATIC LEGAL AND SOCIAL STATUS.
